The challenge
Outage minutes had risen four years running while the connection queue for new generation reached forty-two days per study. Control-room decisions still routed through three people and a whiteboard photo.
What we did
Ameera Hassan's team rebuilt the outage data model from the SCADA export up, then automated the connection studies that did not need an engineer's judgment. Decision rights in the control room were re-mapped from forty traced decisions.
The queue analytics ran on the utility's own stack, owned by two engineers hired into the client team during the program.
The outcome
Outage minutes per customer fell by a third year over year. Connection studies now clear in eleven days median, and the control room runs its own models without contractor support.
Outage minutes per customer-year −72 min
Connection study median −31 days
Studies automated end-to-end +64%
