Montferrat Acciai
Specialty steel group, carve-out from a diversified conglomerate

The challenge
The carve-out had to keep three melt shops shipping through separation, with transition agreements the sellers priced by the month and a synergy plan the buyers priced at twice the historical capture rate.
What we did
Arun Malhotra's diligence had already read the maintenance debt and the yield records before signing. The separation program ran short, priced TSAs with exit dates; the operations team worked yield and procurement in parallel from day one.
Synergy lines were priced per item with monthly evidence, owned by the client's own integration leads.
The outcome
Order book intact at day one hundred with zero lost accounts. Synergy run-rate reached 38 million euros by month eleven against a plan of 24 — the yield program paid for the integration.
Synergy run-rate +38 €M
Yield across melt shops +3.9%
TSA cost as planned −8 % of budget
Bars are scaled per metric against its own maximum. Direction of improvement: Synergy run-rate, Yield across melt shops, TSA cost as planned — see each metric.
