Maintenance calendars crews actually keep

June 29, 2023 · 1 min read · By Daniel Osei

A maintenance plan that assumes quiet weeks is a fiction with a color code. Calendars survive when they are built from telematics and order books — the two sources that say which weeks were never quiet in the first place.

Across one depot, adherence rose from 61 to 89 percent once the calendar could see the order book. Breakdown hours fell by a third without a single new sensor.
